Spring is in the air and it’s four weeks to go to the deadline for the ILBF’s law undergraduate essay competition! Deadline is 22nd April at 4pm.
Jane Colston, partner at Brown Rudnick and ILBF trustee, set a great new year’s challenge at the end of 2024. There is plenty of time to rise to the occasion and enter our essay competition. See Jane’s film here.

Why should law undergraduates enter our essay competition? It’s a chance to win a fantastic prize: a week’s work experience with our competition sponsors Brown Rudnick, and to have your essay published. It is also an opportunity to research an important legal issue, develop your own ideas and create a sound argument – all good preparation for your future career as a lawyer.
All the competition details are set out on the dedicated competition page here. The page includes links to the launch of the competition by Baroness Carr, the Lady Chief Justice, and to a recording of the online panel event where expert panellists discussed what the rule of law will look like in 20 years’ time.
We are looking forward to reading your entries and to hearing what the next generation of lawyers has to say.
