A new academic year and new opportunities

Welcome back to all law students to the new academic year! Whether you are starting your first year, embarking on your second year or entering the final year of your degree, all of us at the ILBF wish you the very best for your studies.

Last academic year, the ILBF launched its inaugural law undergraduate essay competition. The winner, Jude D’Alesio, has just started the LPC at the University of Law in Moorgate, before starting his training contract at Shearman and Sterling. In June, Jude spent a week with Jane Colston, litigation partner at Brown Rudnick LLP and ILBF trustee, as the prize for his winning essay. Jane interviewed Jude about his experiences which you can read about in this article.

The ILBF is committed to supporting the next generation of lawyers across the globe with the information resources they need. We are delighted to work with law students at a number of UK universities who collect and pack books for our recipients.

We also want to give all law undergraduates in the UK the chance to take part in a thought-provoking essay competition with the chance to win an excellent prize that will contribute to their legal careers.

Watch out for more announcements very soon about the law student essay competition for 2022–2023!
