ILBF announces new Chief Executive Officer

The board of trustees of the ILBF is delighted to announce that Katherine Eden Haig is appointed as the new Chief Executive Officer of the ILBF.

Katherine will join the ILBF in early December and will combine her time as CEO of the ILBF with her continuing appointment as Executive Director of The Slynn Foundation, where she has worked for the last five years.

Katherine has a background in technology and strategic management and has worked in law, international banking, technology and the not-for-profit sector. She has extensive management experience at senior level and has coordinated several international training programmes.  In addition to a wealth of experience, Katherine will bring her passion for books and the rule of law to the role.

Katherine’s appointment follows the resignation of Katrina Crossley, who has been the CEO of the ILBF for many years and has been involved in its work from inception. Katrina will continue to be associated with the ILBF.

‘On behalf of the trustees of the ILBF I am delighted to welcome Katherine as our new Chief Executive Officer. She brings to our charity a wealth of experience and a great love of books and the rule of law. There are many synergies between the work of the ILBF and The Slynn Foundation, where Katherine is and will remain Executive Director. We look forward to working with Katherine and together taking the ILBF into its third decade.’

Paul Lowenstein KC, ILBF Chairman of Trustees

‘I am delighted to take on the role of Chief Executive of the ILBF continuing the outstanding contribution of Katrina Crossley who has ensured that law libraries and universities around the world have benefited from the wonderful gift of books which enrich lives and support the rule of law.

Since the inception of this not-for-profit over 20 years ago, the ILBF has supplied books to law libraries in universities, judiciaries, parliaments and not-for-profit organisations in over 60 countries through the generous donation of books by the UK legal community. Those books, with the help of our sponsors, have travelled to Europe, Africa, South America, Asia, and the Pacific establishing on going relationships with those who appreciate the value of research resources we often take for granted. ILBF’s recent programme for law librarians has offered opportunities for librarians from several countries to exchange information and ideas with peers that help make the impact of ILBF truly worldwide. I look forward to working with all the teams who generously support ILBF to achieve its goals.’
