Lord Justice Thomas and the trustees of the ILBF are delighted to announce the appointment of five new trustees to its board: Sir Ross Cranston, High Court Judge, Queen’s Bench Division; Akbar Khan, Director of Legal Affairs, Commonwealth Secretariat; Paul Lowenstein QC, 3 Verulam Buildings; Deborah Robinson, Head of Legal, British Council; Sanjev Warna-Kula-Suriya, Partner, Slaughter & May.
The new trustees bring a wealth of experience and knowledge to the board which will be invaluable to the ILBF as it enters the next phase of growth and development. From launch in 2005 to today, the charity has provided printed legal texts to over 100 pro bono organisations, institutions, governments and universities in over 40 countries in the pursuit of supporting access to justice, legal education and the rule of law. The ILBF’s plans for the future include reaching more recipient organisations in more countries, developing closer links with partner organisations around the world and facilitating greater participation for donors in its activities. The appointment of the new trustees marks a significant step towards those goals and the trustees and operating committee look forward to working with them in the future.
